Retail Confectioners International is a not-for-profit Illinois corporation founded in Chicago in 1917 to represent the interest of confectionery manufacturing retailers and to promote public interest in these products. It is the only trade association in North America dedicated specifically to this segment of the confectionery industry.

The 1999/2000 season marked the 50th anniversary of the Sugarloaf Ski Club, the oldest club of its kind in Maine. During the past 50 years, Sugarloaf/USA has been able to host premier events such as the U.S. Alpine Nationals, the U.S. Freestyle Nationals, the U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix, the National Junior Olympics, the North American Championship Series, and the S.I.S.E. Cup Eastern Masters Championships.
